What are Large Language Models (LLMs)?
Large Language Models (LLMs) are a type of artificial intelligence (AI) designed to understand, process, and generate human-like text. They’re like recipes for making predictions based on huge amounts of language data, such as books, websites, and articles.
LLMs use deep learning techniques, specifically something called a “transformer” neural network, to predict the next word in a sentence. And that prediction ability is what allows them to generate coherent text, answer questions, write stories, translate languages, and much more. They’re called “large” because they contain billions or even trillions of adjustable settings, or parameters, that help them learn from data and get better over time.
